When I made the decision to become a minimalist 2 months ago, I felt the need to list down all the things I had in a spreadsheet. I was shocked to find out that I possessed so much more things than I thought I had. I thought I was forced to lead a life of poverty when in fact there were more than 500 items resting in my 2 rooms and office table. So I started choosing which ones to keep and which ones to let go.
Since then, I’ve been very careful in purchasing new items. To keep the “125 things” I set, I made the rule that if I have to acquire one thing, I have to give up another. It was hard. Most of my money for fun went only to food and relaxation services since I don’t have to bring and keep them at home. But there’s just one thing in which I failed miserably — the weekend broadsheets that keep on piling up in one corner of my room.
These papers are great and they cost me money. I regret the thought of throwing them into the trash bin. So I spent weeks thinking about what I’m gonna do with them. Insight came when my stock of little brown envelopes ran out.
I use envelopes when paying my rent and giving money to churches. Turning these old newspapers into cute little envelopes is such a great idea! I no longer have to buy them at National Book Store. Moreover, I was able to practice generating my creative juices. Here’s what I got!

Is it a cool idea?
